Autumn basics

Autumn basics

Hey guys,

Am I the only one that gets slightly excited to bring the teddy bear jacket to the front of the wardrobe once August is over? Autumn is definitely one of my favourite seasons to dress for – bring ‘layer’ season on. One of the easiest ways I like to transition my wardrobe from summer whites to autumn layers is by incorporating neutrals, florals and reddish tones into my wardrobe.

Honestly, you can never go wrong with stocking up on a few good quality neutral long sleeve tops every few years, which can be mixed and matched with differently toned patterned midi skirts. Take both of these outfits, both tops are a neutral colours but paired with strong patterned prints… and boots, of course. Each piece can easily be swapped around and styled with one another – playing with soft tones, loud prints and killer heeled boots.

The more I’m scrolling through Instagram at the moment, the more I see the nineties Rachel from Friends style trend crop up… and I’m obsessed.  The first look is completely inspired by this trend and I’m on the hunt for more pieces like it! I hope you like how I’ve styled both of these outfits from PrettyLittleThing – links to everything are below.
